Destination Island Weddings

Planning a Destination Wedding

If you have dreamt of slightly less traditional wedding such as getting married on a beautiful exotic beach front, on a majestic cruise ship, or even at Disney World a destination is a great choice for you. More and more couples are deciding to get married farther from home in search of an intimate, romantic and unique backdrop to a wedding that their friends and family will remember for years to come. It does take a bit of planning to make sure your destination wedding is pulled off without a hitch but don't worry, we're here to help. Here's a few reasons why a destination island wedding might be right for you:

Cheaper than it Sounds

  • You might be surprised to hear that a Destination Wedding could in fact be cheaper than a traditional wedding close to home. Of course this depends on a number of factors but in general destination weddings tend to be more intimate meaning the total number of attendees could be far less than if the event was held locally. Also, the cost of providing food, drinks and lodging for you guests can be considerably cheaper abroad than in the US, especially if you choose to get married in an off-peak travel season.

Less Stressful

  • Perhaps the greatest advantage of planning a destination wedding is that a wedding planner generally comes included with the resort wedding package. The traditional, stressful pre-wedding activities of finding a florist, a caterer, a DJ etc. are all coordinated by the on-site wedding planner. You'll have much more time to concentrate on finding the perfect dress and sending out invitations. When you arrive at the resort, the wedding coordinator will discuss some last minute arrangements with you but other than that you can relax by the pool until your guests arrive.

All Inclusive

  • Your guests will love that you chose an all-inclusive resort to tie-the-knot. Encourage them to arrive early and take advantage of the fine dining and pool side drinks. Some couples choose to plan a bachelor and/or bachelorette party, a wedding and their honeymoon all at the same resort. With one package price per guest and unlimited food and drink it's easy to budget for a small or large wedding.
