Choosing Your Honeymoon Destination

Choosing Your Honeymoon Destination

Choosing your honeymoon destination can be quite overwhelming especially if you’ve attend a bridal show like the Twin City Bridal Show, Sunday in Minneapolis, so many choices.  How do you know where to book, and how do you go about choosing your honeymoon destination?

What were the “big” destinations couples inquired about at the Twin City Bridal Show?

Over the water bungalows of TahitiSouth Pacific / Tahiti -  When couples request a specific resort or destination, we typically ask them what it is about the resort or destination that led them to their choices.  Thenearly unanimous answer was the over-the-water bungalows.  What makes Tahiti a difficult “dream honeymoon” is cost and the flight time.  No worries mid 2012 those over-the-water bungalows will be available in the Caribbean at Sandals St. Lucia.

There are things about those bungalows that as a bridal couple you will definitely want to take note of, specifically the bathroom facilities.

Mexico / Adults Only, All Inclusive -  Here our recommendations have a huge range, mostly based on budget.  If you can’t get a resort that is absolutely adults only with your budget, don’t worry, there are options.  How about a resort that has an adults only pool and restaurant?   Lots of requests for information on the El Dorado (Karisma) Resorts, Iberostar Grand Hotels and The Royal Cancun.

Sandals Royal Bahamian has a Private Island just for you.Caribbean / St. Lucia and Antigua – Jamaica is still a big time favorite, but couples appear to be wanting a different island experience and it seems St. Lucia, Antigua and St. Maarten/St. Martin (French side vs. Dutch side) were the big winners!  These islands each have an extra “hop” when it comes to most  flights out of the US, but well worth the time and effort.  Sandals was the top requested resort chain.

Honeymoon and Destination Wedding Planning Questions

How soon should I start to plan my honeymoon?  -Flight schedules are available about 11 months from the date of travel, so at that point you will be able to get some true pricing for your trip.  From that point forward it’s great to start gathering actual costs.  Before 11 months, begin to narrow down the actual destination.

Destination Wedding FUN!Is it possible to do a destination wedding in the United States that is all-inclusive?

Absolutely, Club Med is a wonderful choice, for families wanting or needing to stay in the US, and stillll have an all-inclusive option.

Does Enchanted Getaways have a Destination Wedding program? – Our partners like Delta Vacations, Funjet and Apple all have programs for brides and grooms to both give their guests a discount and for the couple to receive a rebate on the number of guests attending.  We compare the programs available to the bride and groom and make our recommendation based on your group.  Not all programs are the same, and not just one program is best for everyone.

At Enchanted Getaways, “Your dreams begin with us….”
