Wedding Getaways
Wedding getaways offer not just one special day for couples but day after day of being special. There are several possibilities when it comes to why couples plan wedding getaways to tropical islands and unique destinations.
Whatever the reason, if are reading this blog you probably are considering or actually planning a destination wedding and if that is the case congratulations! Your most important decision is your first decision what is the destination and resort location.
Some items to consider as you begin choosing the location for your destination wedding:
- Do I need to consider budget for my guests when it comes to resort choice?
- If I do need to consider budget for my guests, what is the budget?
- Do we have any special needs guests needing a resort that is handicapped accessible?
- Does the resort need to be kid friendly because children will be attending?
- How much flight time will my guests consider?
- Are all my guests departing out of the same city?
- Are all my guests traveling on the same dates?
- Do I have an in destination wedding budget?
- Will I be disappointed if guests I expected to attend decide not to attend?
- Do I need/want a specific wedding date and time?
These are just some of the questions we would ask in helping a couple choose the perfect destination for their wedding, and here are some of the reasons we ask some of those questions.
If you have a specific wedding date and time in mind, and won’t settle for anything else make sure you plan ahead. A popular date like 12/12/12 definitely requires advanced planning.
If you want to be the one and only bride at the resort for your day, plan ahead and choose a resort that schedules just 1 wedding a day, but with that said again, you will need to plan ahead.
If budget is going to dictate how many of your family and friends attend the wedding, ask yourself, if it’s about the wedding or the number of guests. If it’s about both there is no reason you have to sacrifice the dream destination wedding for attendance of your family and friends.
Your wedding budget is what dictates the elements of your wedding not the budget of your guests. Resorts can make just about anything happen and if that’s not the case, an off resort site location might be just perfect. With the help of a destination wedding planner just about anything is possible.
We have had wedding couples who’s guests stayed in a moderate resort, but the wedding location was at an off resort, beachfront location. Like a traditional wedding the bride and groom arranged and paid for the entire off resort celebration. From the carriage to the catamaran to the candles everything aspect of the wedding was perfect.
These wedding couples had all their family and friends in attendance, AND had the destination wedding of their dreams.
